Correct heat range of PLUG???

What octane fuel are you using? Ethanol?

Scrape the top of the piston off with a razor blade. Make sure no debris gets in the rings and reassemble.
At what point was the plug turned off. Idle? Idle looks lean. Shit on the piston looks fat. Ground strap looks too white. But check the jetting first. one at a time.

Put it back together and do the water torture to clean the piston.

Put a cr250 front end on it!! Way better the bike actually goes where you point it.

I have a CRF250X front end with fresh oil 5w in one, 7.5w in the other, and an XR600R shock with a race tech spring, can't remember the weight. I haven't messed with internals yet on the shock but here are some references

Shock Service https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwZ...thkey=CO-Np5cM

Shock Fiche https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BwZ...thkey=CJX3lpcH

Both documents are Public Domain.

CDI repair help

Ok, I have the CDI pulled apart, the majority of the potting pulled off, and I was just wondering if trying to remove all the tiny spots of potting from the board is necessary or not? When I say tiny spots, I mean anything out in the open that is very small, or even any of the stuff stuck under the legs of the components.....

I just want to get as good of a re-solder as possible, and didn't know if leaving that on there while desoldering would make a difference or not.

Thanks,

Thanks,
PM sent..........

Get the stuff out from under the bent over legs,,sometimes easier after desoldering........as long as the areas being soldered are clear of the shit you are good........i use a lighted magnifier and a utility knife or pick to get that crud out from under the bent over component legs,it WILL affect the solder joint if left there..

Tires

I have about worn out the factory tires on my 650 and am looking for replacement advise. I'm a newb, this is my first bike. I ride some pavement, a little dirt, and a whole lot of gravel. Any advise appreciated. Also what size front and back do I need.

Don't ask about air filters or countershaft sprockets.

I need mirrors, are there any good options as I have only one tattered stock and a mirror off a 70s rd at the moment.

Looking at doubletake and ken shane, are the double take really worth the extra cost.
