So, a great shop bent it back to stock position.
Now it looks like my frame is off again by about an inch, maybe a little more.

Any thoughts?
Yes, remind me never to loan you one of my bikes.

Yeah, No loaner bike to you either.

Yeah a crash is always better when your "friends" catch it on video.

Seats

The example I'm hoping to buy, the seat feels pretty ratty. I think it's original foam from the '90's and the cover is beat. What do you folks like for seats? I was thinking that conversion kit. That any good? I've had Corbins on my other bikes in the past but I don't think I can do the money for that. Maybe second hand. Thinking this deal is falling through anyway.

Well, of course he bent it beyond the yield point - that's where the 4" permenant offset came from..? Elastic deformation is present on both sides of the bent area, but it certainly yielded and was weakened.

To not crash is likely asking too much of most of us, but learning how to crash more efficiently is very do-able!

Full disclosure... I did ask before I shared the "incident" with the entire world.
Having the guy with the helmet cam behind is a double edged sword... you get to watch yourself do really cool stuff and you get to see the other stuff as well

Talking New XR650L Owner

Just wanted to say hey to you all. I just purchased a XR a few days back and I'm stoked about my upgrade. I got a 2007 XR with 3190 miles on it. This sweet thing looks brand new and I love it!

I traded in a '99 DR650 that I owned for the last 5 years. I love the bike but there were a lot of issues that I had with the bike that led to the trade in. I'll start with the suspension. Off road terrain was more of a pain in the ass to ride then it was enjoyable. My front suspension didn't absorb crap and I could feel the smallest of bumps. Consecutive rain grooves caused my bike to shake violently. I invested a $1000 in the suspension at a local suspension shop here in NC and I was very disappointed taking it back a couple of times with no results. I will say that they have never worked on a DR before which I've been told is completely different then other bikes.

The next was ride height. I'm 6'3 and the DR wasn't made for tall people. I got the raised handle bars and lowered foot pegs and that made the ride better, but the clearance on the underside of the bike was another issue I had with the bike. I had to get a skid plate for the bike because of some the rocks that would slam into the bottom of the bike that I was trying to ride over. Not to mention the frequent rock that would get thrown from my front tire to the underside of the bike.

Those were my main complaints with the bike which haggled me for the longest time, all because a buddy of mine let me ride his XR and I liked the bike the moment I rode it.

Wish list so far for XR:

Raised handlebars
Bigger gas tank
Lowered foot pegs
*EDIT* A NEW SEAT... This thing hurts

With that said, I'm happy to be part of the XR family now. Cheers to you all!
