Where? If in Lisbon, I can help. If not, somebody else will help. Not difficult to find.

Visiting the Azores. Would like riding ideas

I will be on Sao Miguel, the Azores, November 3 - 6. I have read a few threads about motorcycle rides into the hinterland on dualsports and would like to get ideas on where to rent a motorcycle and where to ride.

If any Azorean can help me, I will appreciate it. Better yet, if any of you are planning a weekend ride on any of the islands and would be willing to let me ride along, even better.

My portuguese consists of Bom Dia, but I do speak the universal language of ADVrider. I currently ride a 1200 GSA, a Honda Xr650R, or a Honda Xr650L so I am familiar with taking big bikes offroad. I am also 197 cm tall so me on a little bike might be quite funny.

Any help appreciated.

Hi mate!

Try to contact member BRUNO BOTELHO... He lives in S. Miguel and so he may be able to help you! Every island in Azores is beautiful. You'll enjoy it for sure...

Have fun!

Cordless I'm an Azorean Native...living in Lisbon for a while but natural from Santa Maria Island...near So Miguel....

Once in there you will have no problems with language...mainly with the younger ppl.. everybody speaks english a little...

I don't know how can i help with the rent...but i think once you there you easily find something in Ponta Delgada city...

If you want antecipate things...maybe check this:

http://www.ilhaverde.com/en/

You have there the contacts and you can call or send a mail to ask...in the website i found no bikes to Rent...but i know that in my Island St Maria this company rents some scouters, so you better check...

Other way it's try this guys:

AnC Rent
http://www.pai.pt/anc-rent-motos-faj...aixo-9500-435/

or in the city the official yamaha stand horacio Silva garcia:

http://www.pai.pt/horacio-silva-garc...jose-9500-246/

I don't know if the contacts are right because i just search in the google, but you can try search another....

You will enjoy the ride there for sure....if you want more help let me know...i'm not there but i can give you a hand with something you need to know...

EDIT:
By the way...you need to go to Nordeste, Lagoa das 7 cidades ( seven cities lagoon)..furnas...its a vulcanic active zone...you can eat there "cozido portuguesa" and "milho cozido" (corn) that they do into the ground in the vulcanic water...better check...;)
