Great pics, some front pagers for sure. Looks like a fun place to explore.
Do you save gps tracks? Would be nice to have for google earth collection.

No, but I have a magellan meridian gold and I need to mount it up. Not savvy on the use of GPSs yet. I presume I can just turn it on and it will track where I go?

Not sure of your exact unit, but most are pretty straight forward.
Set it to track, you can vary the frequency of track points, etc.
If you dont have the manual you can probably download it from their site.

Enjoyed the story and pics very much. Well done!

Although it has been a very long time since I was in that part of the country, I still find it very interesting in it's ruggedness.

I'm sure you will now be putting the lessons learned at Tom Groggin to very good use.
