No, but I have a magellan meridian gold and I need to mount it up. Not savvy on the use of GPSs yet. I presume I can just turn it on and it will track where I go?

Not sure of your exact unit, but most are pretty straight forward.
Set it to track, you can vary the frequency of track points, etc.
If you dont have the manual you can probably download it from their site.

Pilbarra in Australia

Good God, I am soooo fuckin jealous! Pil- you are such a lucky bastard, you do realize that don't you? I live in Northern New Mexico-a beautiful place in in itself, but I lust for Australia! If I ever manage to get myself down there, you gotta take me rideabout, OK?
Thanks so much for the great pics-I agree-front page material! I'll try to post some remote 1200 pics from my neck of the woods; I'm just getting my motophoto setup going. Thanks again-Troll

Enjoyed the story and pics very much. Well done!

Although it has been a very long time since I was in that part of the country, I still find it very interesting in it's ruggedness.

I'm sure you will now be putting the lessons learned at Tom Groggin to very good use.
