OK, one last question about your scoot, are those the kings kt966? and if so, can you give a little run down as far as wear, how they ride on street(noisy?), you know, the basics?
your bike is what mine aspires to be, just add a aqualine and it would be perfect. thanks Quote:

Hi Rockt, I notice you have the S06 w/s and it's laid down like a sportbike shield. How is it for buffeting and effectiveness? I took mine off as it was terrible! Turns out it was probably installer error (me) as I had it too vertical like a cruiser shield. I was holding up to the bike yesterday at the same angle as yours. If you tell me it works good, I'll re-install it...thanks!

Does anyone now own a KLR that used to own a DR or vice versa? I have a DRZ and would like a 2nd more pavement friendly commuter/DS bike...any thoughts?

Yeah in hindsight I should have waited the extra month for the aqualine. PS the motard front guard helped reduce some of the buffeting at speed. I would reccommend it. |

Yes, I've gone through several KLRs before I got a DR. I like the DR more. It doesn't pack as much is my only complaint, but maybe that's because I don't put as much on it. I like the motor a lot more, and the bike's components are of generally better quality and beefier too. Also I think Suzukis are well engineered Japanese motorcycles, and the DR is no exception. I did get stranded once on a KLR in very hot weather due to the water cooling system failing - fan blade melted and froze. Not a big deal, but not fun. The fan motor and blade on a KLR is a cheap POS yet very expensive. I ended up using a fan from an EX250 I got from a junkyard. Almost the same POS, but moves a little more air anyway. The Suzuki has no such item. It's a very easy bike to handle on dirt or pavement and when really ridden on pvement will outhandle most other machines out there. |
