Hi Flag GS - A couple of those pics looked like you were heading south from Jacobs Lake into the North Rim area. That is one of the places I'd like to ride. Have you taken the forest service road out to Fire Point? I'm from Flagstaff and am planning some riding up that way this summer. Just bought a 2003 F650GS Dakar. How did your wife like it? Doesn't look like you had it very long - did she upgrade to a larger bike? Just getting into Adventure riding and I can't wait to go on a couple of cool camping trips.

Far as mods go, I've done:
Touratech crashbars for engine & faring, Touratech tankbag, Swanky TT GPS mount for my old Garmin III, SU's and tailrack from Happy Trails, (not pictured) Targhee CC Panniers from HT, Heated Grips, Bigfoot on the kickstand (stupid thing is always dragging)
Still To Do:
Centerstand, Bar Riser, Maybe the tall seat from TT...haven't made up my mind yet.

Ok, the one I posted a few days ago was a model. Kindof a joke on a buddy of mine. This one is real and I picked it up at the dealer today, mounted the touratech panniers when I got home with it

After lamenting for months about how frikkin' heavy my f650 is I just saw the striking viking's multimedia presentation at a local BMW dealer and was inspired all over again in this bike. His Dakar was over 600lbs with all the gear and the TT 10 gallon tank but he still rode that thing through more gnarly sh1t than I have ever done.

Maybe I should stop complaining so much and just ride

Thinking it might be time for ohlins soon, tho'
