Question Full Ohlins suspension setup

Hey guys, gotta question for ya... I have a 2003 dakar but suspension sucks. I would like to do a full ohlins suspension set-up. If I machined some custom parts for a front fork set-up would anybody else be interested?

You do the machining yourself? An Ohlins front fork setup runs about $880.

If you're a machinist I'd be interested in talking to you about some decent bar risers....

It's the Remus (which is the same as the Sebring??) and it came with the bike. I don't like it. Because it's symmetrical. Even if you lay your bike down quite gently you see it right away. I'd rather have a single sided pipe.

Ya I do some machining. I mostly make Titanium wedding bands but I have all the equipment to make whatever I want. Funny you should bring up handle bar risers cause I was just about to order some from Touratech with the Magura bars. I laid my bike down tonight and the crappy BMW handle bars bent, which I didn't mind cause its a good excuse to finally get the risers and good bars. Anyway, it would be pretty easy to make some handlebar risers. Give me some feedback on what the risers need to be, like height, width, what bars to adapt to, what kind of material and anything you can think of. With a lot of input I can develope some sweet parts which I would love to do. I really would like to develope the ohlins fork setup... $2200 for the WP forks is absolutely insane, and I haven't seen any other company to rival them....

If you want to talk about it real time you can AIM me...
My screen name is, TheTacticalTurd .

Dude, looks like you got some fun tools to play with in that garage! Is that CARPET?

I don't know anything about the Touratech Risers, besides everything with a TT label on it costs too much for my taste. It's always nice to have something original. Also, I am wanting to look into something that might pull the bars closer in to me, to help out my incredibly bad riding posture.

I sent you a PM by the way....

Not to far from home when I lived in Grenoble, France, on my first F650

Somewhere in central South Africa, during the Dustybutt 1000 on a borrowed bike

Cape L'Argulhas

Utah (on my bike)

Guess where (on a rental bike)...

In the same neighborhood

Portage Bay, AK

Glenn Highway, AK

Wyoming

More Wyoming

Lolo Pass

Mong Kok (Hong Kong) borrowed bike

Mt. Hotham, Australia (borrowed bike)

I shot somebody else's F650GS at xmas, in Fort Collins, CO

Rear-ended by a Saturn car

Here is an AVI of a South African gal explaining where the beer bottle opener is on an F650.

I have more. But I gotta go ride now.
