As a child growing up in Maine during the 60's, we had no access to any of this, and all I could get for information was through events seen on Wide World of Sports, and in magazines. It sure brings back memories of pouring through MX magazines, absorbing every detail. Its so nice to see these old bikes becoming collectibles, as we all know many parted this world via the scrapyards. Its good to see some have survived. SO thank you, Nachtflug, for creating and tending this thread. Its a great place to stop by and reminisce.

gracias.

this would have been interesting.

an equally nice one (though not a 336 mile one) popped up Sunday night on eBay. I grabbed the pics, but when I went back last night to check it ouy, it was no longer there.

the seller was even offering to deliver to mid ohio.

SPEAKING OF WHICH IF ANYONE NEEDS A BIKE HAULED TO MID OHIO MY TRAILER IS HEADING THERE. EMPTY.

how sweet is this?

Those Herk rotories were cool bikes. I remember Doug Wilford rode one in ISDT Isle of Man 1975. He broke some ribs on day one, but managed to ride 3 more days before DNF.
Here's another picture of Doug on the Puch Team in 74 Camerino, Italy
Check out his assistant helping fill the gas tank.

I had my sky blue bike out this weekend. Starting to get over 100 before noon, so the riding is getting less every week.
