After 5 min. waiting it started up again. Was it too hot? starter blocked by overheating? It sounded like a dead battery but the 2 days following this happened again, most times it started like a champ. Somebody experienced the same with a buell here?
Check your relays. The Key Switch relay has flaked out on me on very hot days, usually after being stationary after hard running. Gives the same symptoms you describe. That relay runs hot -- like burn your fingers hot). It has always regained its composure after cooling off, but I keep a brand new relay under the seat for if/when it craps out.

The headlights are run off of that relay as well -- I've since installed a proper relayed headlight circuit to take 4.5A off that circuit. I'm hoping that will help the relay run cooler.

Tires, tires and More tires..

Well inspection time is coming up (passed!) And I knew the rear tire wouldnt pass, but speaking with friends at the shop I use, they are in doubt the front will pass either. So now Im buying a second tire I hadnt budgeted for. I like the shinko 705s but they dont seem to come in the size I need, is there something comparable to recommend to me for the budget minded. Normally this wouldnt be much of an issue, however My Altima needs 4 new tires, and my Explorer will need 4 new tires in about 3 months, so my tire budget is running kinda thin?

Im currently running about 90% paved surfaces..

Wow 10 new tires needed at the same time? That's a ton of rubber. I just put 5 new tires on an Expedition in May and the cost was atrocious. Luckily I kept the old ones because I put them back on before trading the SUV for a pick up.
