Wicked Foods - I feel your pain, know and love all these places. Some more pics at http://www.metaljockey.smugmug.com

Wachs - no, free camping is ill advised. Coastal hotels are dirt cheap though.

Fabulous report. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Read Ted Simon's comments about his ride through South Africa in "Jupiter's Travels". Terrific stuff.

Great report! In regards to the murders and robberies, are the victims allowed to possess implements of equal or greater killing abilities? In other words, is the general public allowed to carry firearms or is the average person expendable?

The general public are in fact allowed to carry firearms should they be able to get a license. This in itself can prove to be rather challenging. The laws have recently changed regarding the acquiring of a gun license making it somewhat more difficult and costly to get such a license. Possibly for the better but I'm not too sure about that.

Will be in SA as well during April

Maybe we should hook up for a ride I have arranged for a 650 DAKAR for a couple of days while I am there in PE area. I want to go to "Die Hel " in Oudtshoorn or more definite is Baviaanskloof. I will be there from 22 April till 5 May.Let me know if you want to go for a ride. The old road from Stormsriver to Plett is still my favourite through Nature's valley.

I live in Sydney now but will be visiting Knysna in April, Oh what I would give for a ride The girlfriend would not be happy though travelling all the way around the world to go for a ride. She has enough problems copining with me riding every weekend let alone going riding while on holiday. Any more pics ?

Great report. The wild coast is definitely one of my favourite places to ride. Here's a pic from Hole In The Wall near Coffee bay.

The view down to Port St Johns from the light aircraft landing strip above it. You have to make sure there are no planes coming in to land before riding here as there is nothing like air traffic control just a long strip of tar in the middle of the bush with fantastic views

The green house is legendary and definitely a unique experience. If you visit the Transkei you had better have your drinking liver installed most places only sell beer in quarts (750ml).
