Just an update on the mefo tire ware. I have almost 6,000 on them now and still have about 3mm tread left in the center. I sould be able to get 7,000 out of them.
Awhile ago I didn't think they would go that long, but it seems they are wearing better than I expected. I have no doubt that under less severe conditions they would go over 10,000. They are cracking slightly around the knobbs. Doesn't effect any thing yet. I am sold. The tkc's I only got 3000 out of, the metszlers only 3500(sahara 3), the dunlop 606 about 2500 out of the front . Michelin tx-66 radials, only 3500. So realy even 6000 for me is monumental.Just wish they wern't always out of stock

I got my mefo's from Fred at Arrowhead earlier this spring for both the wife's bike and mine. So far about 1000 miles on the things. A couple of weeks ago we rode lots and lots of twisties from Colorado to Moab and back. Wow, this is the only set of tires since stock and these things stick like glue on twisties. I was riding with a friend who was on KTM 950 Adventure and he was blown away I was on his ass and it was fun. Last weekend, we ( the wife & I) rode about 30 miles of the Kokopelli Trail in Utah from Onion Creek to the La Sals and into Moab. The ride was a bitch for us. The tires did great. I dumped twice following the wife going to slow. One time I was in deep sand on a incline. After muscleing the bike back up, the Mefo's actually surprised me in that they got me out of my hole. Starting July 1, the wife and I are leaving Colorado heading to NW British Columbia and back, a 5 week trip. It will be very interesting to see the mileage we get out of these tires.

I ordered mine a while back from Fred at ArrowheadMotorsports.com and I believe they should be in any day now. I can't wait.

He sounded real frustrated, but said that he ordered 80 tires when they do come in. I guess you're gonna have to wait a little longer.

AAAAAAARRRRRGGH! We have four bikes trailering out to Nevada in three weeks for a week long "boot camp" prep trip. I figured at least a set would be ready by then.

I think MEFO could use a new U.S. distributor. Fred is not the problem.

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to implicate Fred. I know Fred isn't the problem. And there is one more distributor and I know it's not their fault either.
IMO, I think that they were selling these tires for a while and nobody had really reported how good they were until a few listers got them and a few of those listers actually posted to several places on the net which alerted everyone to go out and buy some. Then they sold out. Fast. Before the next order came in. That's how I see it. Now on basically every board for KLRs and adventure bikes (what, all two of them?) MEFO's are highly praised so we'll see how long this shipment lasts and when the next one comes in. I wouldn't mind being a distributor for them. Oldrice- www.oldrice.com
