My store (Whole Foods E.57th St) closed at 6 yesterday, is closed today, and don't know tomorrow. The wife is stuck in LA (where it's sunny and 84 degrees) until Wednesday. Several friends live in my hood, so it might be a drunken hurricane crawl in Astoria!

Rode home from work yesterday over QBB at 7 o'clock. No traffic, gusty winds, but nothing terrible.

it's kinda strange that so many businesses are open...sure, people might need/want their services but the people delivering those services need to be home with their families preparing.

just my $0.02

I bought stuff from there on Saturday

Mayor Bloomberg is on TV right now. No huge announcements other than school cancelled for tomorrow. Bridges/tunnels will be closed as they see fit. If you're at work, go home now.

I wonder how long it will be until Mr Burnsberg tells us to catch a Broadway show.

Sitting in Clinton Hill and seeing major wind with some blasts of rain, and the storm is still far off. It'll be interesting to see how the storm develops. Listening to callers on WNYC, some sound boldly confident that the storm won't be too bad, despite their living in low areas - hope they're right.

Good news, alternate side parking and meter rules are suspended today and tomorrow.

Flaccid crane!

FDNY is on scene at 157 W 57th st manhattan, clearing folks from the upper floors of neighboring buildings because they expect this crane to fall.

Haha, there was a weather report from Battery Park, and as usual, they are warning everyone to stay inside or else you will die.
Then, a dude goes flying by on a jetski/waverunner. That's awesome!
