Are those wooden things on your bike some form of training wheels? Foot boards for a passenger? Bottom support for side bags?

They're running boards for the side loaders. You can put your feet there as a passenger. Each side loader can handle 110 lbs and the rear rack can hold 440 lbs total.

I have 125 liter soft panniers that I could simply throw those system cases into, but they're more secure strapped down.

hrm. it's orange but i don't see a 75 degree vtwin stuffed into a trellis frame. i hope you didn't pay a lot for that. i don't think it's a legitimate KTM.

Closest legal parking is Water and Beekman street area. There is non meter alternate side parking there. I parked there often when I worked downtown.

They are saying that they no longer send out the big ones. It's small ones only now. FYI.
Thanks - Is there an option to swap the old tag or do you still have to pay the $16 fee or whatever for the new one?

Hey guys, anyone know a good scrap motorcycle engine place?

Friend blew his 2006 Kawasaki ZX6R engine (636cc) this weekend. Threw a rod, never seen that before on a somewhat babied motorcycle with 6.5k miles.

I don't usually blow up engines, but when I do, they're Kawasakis.

Visiting Manhattan

Hi all!
Have a short business to do in Manhattan on E.52nd St at the end of August.
To make it fun I'll ride there from Indianapolis,IN .
I was thinking of camping Sunday night at Cheesequake State Park in NJ.
How is this place?Any other suggestion for camping?
How long does it take to get to 52nd from there Monday morning/by9:30/
Which way is the best to take to Manhattan on a motorcycle/bridge,tunnel/?
Is there anything that I should be aware?Been in the city several years ago in a cage. How about parking? Can I leave the bike on the street for a couple of hours with all my camping gear?Or is it likely to be gone when I came back?

Budget two hours for the Monday morning commute from Cheesequake, if it's important for you to get there on time. From where you're headed, you'll most likely want the Lincoln Tunnel, but play it by ear the morning of -- use Google Maps or 880 or 1020 AM stations.

You should be able to park in a local garage, but find one ahead of time as many don't take motorcycles. There's no practical street parking in midtown during the week, with or without camping gear.

I'd consider camping in north Jersey rather than along the Parkway. The commute from points west of the city will be longer in terms of miles, but less harrowing and about a wash in terms of time. And if you're coming from Indianapolis, you can take Route 611 north from Rt. 78 to get to Sussex County campgrounds in an enjoyable manner.

I work on e53 and lexington. When I take the moto I park at sutton place and 53 for free street parking. Beats paying for a gatage but if this is a one time thing and you have soft luggage then a garage may be a better choice

You can also camp on the Hudson River at Croton Point Park, Westchester county NY. There's an MTA Hudson line fast commuter train down to 42St in the city within walking distance.
