This was their thirtieth anniversary party. I went to the 25th, too.

These have been the best rallies I have ever attended. The next one will be in five years.

Part of the problem is contrast. Hop on the ferry in clean, charming (except for that festering pus-filled wart who owns the candy store) Port Jefferson in Lon Guyland surrounded by pleasant if somewhat congested tree lined roads and beautiful homes, enjoy the clean air over the Long Island Sound, and land in smoke-belching industrial Bridgeport Connecticut where you must navigate a mile of slums in any direction before you get anywhere you might actually be interested in going.

I could think of more colorful terms to use for Bridgeport but I figured I'd be nice in light of the country boy's kinfolk 'n all that.

And like I said, nothing personal.

I didn't see any new product releases, but they did offer free shipping and 10% off.
Arrived Friday, registered, set up camp.
Had dinner with new friends
Listened to guitarist at bar
Comedy show
Crashed.
Sat.
Breafast
Met More new friends
Watched trials racing
Went for a ride. Dont expect much, flat long straight roads
Stopped at aerostich hq got tour.
There were lectures going on all day on everything from riding with ms, long distance riding, to packing...
Free bbq dinner
Live band
Crashed
Sun.
Free breakfast
I left, but there was more trials racing etc

They did have closeout gear, more than their site.

Overall this was the best rally I've ever been to. Everyone was so nice and friendly, discussing riding, bs, etc. No hangups about what you ride, just that you ride. Everyone was checking out the mods each other has done.
The trials folks were amazing. Unbelievable skill.

Ride home i went over mackinac bridge, what an experience!

They only do these every 5 years. This was my first and i did it on a whim. They recently sent an email that they are doing something on the east coast soon.

So I got pulled over last night by the undercover/unmarked unit. Was totally expecting and accepting of a ticket I probably deserved. Instead got the 'your headlights out' comment. After explaining why this was their response was 'but it doesnt work' I then had to demonstrate. Then after paperwork check and questioning about what I was up to I was on my way.

It was in BK Heights. It wasnt a checkpoint but I must have ridden past the unmarked. Thankfully that was their only concern. I was very polite and they professional. Incidently I had just checked all my paperwork before leaving as its the end of the month. It ended well and didnt take forever.

Hey all,
Does anyone have a line on volunteer gigs as a motorcycle marshal for events in the city and/or for carrying photographers/videographers during such events? I might be interested in giving that a shot. Shoot me a PM if you've got a line on that kind of thing.

Thanks!

You want to talk to the Citibeemers. Those guys love riding slow in a straight line, in traffic.
