Pretty sure it was NJ state police, but I'll have to recheck

I love the friendly officers at the Holland Tunnel.
http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....postcount=7212

I ride through every morning. I try to always take one of the two center tolls with hopes I can avoid them, as the cops are usually on foot by the sides right after the toll. I do split here and there, but very slowly, and I stop a few cars before that last light before the toll. During primetime, there's always a cop in that little booth on the left right before the last light.

I forget but there might also be another one of those little cop booths right after the first light on the left when you come off the tpke/1+9. Watch for him too. If you were splitting on that ramp before the first light, he probably saw you and just radioed ahead to the other ones after the toll.

If you have a few extra bucks, I think you can google around for an attorney that can show up and take care of it for you.

It's not moto related, but I thought I'd share a recent positive experience with an auto mechanic.

Since I bought the Mazda, the steering was a bit vague and pulled to one side. I supsected that some bushings were worn out or ball joint, etc.

I took my truck to Solerno Service station in Williamsburg. They diagnosed the issue (worn out joint on tie rods) and had it ready in a few hours. The quote they gave me matched perfectly with what I expected. The parts cost was exactly the same if I were to buy from an autozone. They even changed the oil and topped off the fluids.

It's not every day that you hear about a good mechanic, so I thought I'd pass along the good info.

I received a ticket for stopping over the white line at a red light.

You guys think I should fight it or just go for the discount?

Let me know what you think.

BTW, the location was on West St and Houston (northbound). Be careful!

WOW! NYPD is giving tickets for that? Heck, I could make a bundle for the city if they'd deputize me to issues those! (What's next? Tickets for jay-walking? The city could probably balance the budget on those! )

Personally, any ticket which results in points, I fight. With the ALJ system, you're generally screwed, but at least you can delay it with a small probability chance of avoiding it.

Fortunately no points taken since they can't prove it was me driving

You criminal!

$50 and no points? Pay it. Unless you want to contest it as an academic exercise.

Actually... I correct myself: You should plead not guilty on the website. They'll probably offer you a "discount". And, if not, your maximum liability is only $50!
