STOLEN 2006 KTM 640 Adventure!

My 2006 KTM 640 Adventure was stolen between 12am and 10am this morning. I live in Long Island City and I am fuming over this. The bike was outside without a cover on right next to my Avalon Riverview building. They are pulling security camera tapes now.

If you see or hear anything let me know!
3 4 7 6 2 4 1 6 2 7

This is what it looks like. Its Orange for crying out loud so it should be easy to spot!

That sucks! What a beautiful bike. As I understand it, KTMs are a hot commodity right now.

As far as firing weapons off duty, same guidelines as on duty. He or she may take any proper police action as required by the situation. There are very few situations where by law you can fire at an unarmed fleeing suspect, and those may be even more limited by department regulations. There is an acronym DR BARKS which lists the crimes you may use deadly physical force to prevent or terminate. Civilians (non police or peace officer) are by law compelled to attempt to retreat rather than confront.

205 a few pages back.

under NY law it is legal to resist robbery with deadly force.

the officer will be sure to include facts that indicate it was a robbery.

Kinda surprised!!!!!

Everyone gets pissed when their motorcycle gets stolen but complains when an NYPD sergeant who feels threatened by a pair of thiefs trying to steal his motorcycle shoots them in selfdefense!!!what gives?????THe Sergeant knows when he can fire his weapon........Did anyone forget last year when a correction officer was shot dead by a couple of motorcycle thiefs....The Police Sergeant didnt shoot someone as he tried to steal their motorcycle..... He was the attempted crime victim.....Sounds like a happy ending to me!!!!! This world is really getting nuts..........

I had a field day trying to report my stolen KTM. The police had no idea what a KTM was, and they were convinced it was an acronym for the real name like BMW. so I said yeah obviously it has to be an acronym but everyone knows them and calls them KTM. ok... they still don't believe me so they wikipedia KTM and put it down as a KTM - Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen. FML
I didn't even want to get into the model.

i don't care about that cop or his bike.

you're ignoring the fact that the NYPD has made it impossible for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their property the same way this officer did.

why do THEY get the full Constitution and the rest of us are left defenseless?

shouldn't have it both ways. cops aren't special, they are citizens. he was off duty, his gun should have been left at the precinct, he should have called 911.
