Don't bitch here. Call or visit your senator.

NHTSA already acknowledges that our helmet standards are pathetically outdated, but nobody is forking over funding.

I'd be happy even if we just adopted ECE standards.

Forgot the H, sorry

She started right up this afternoon and made it home.

that's where I usually wait if I got there early or if the flight was delayed

Pissed Another one

Tuesday night I got another parking ticket for "No Inspection Sticker."

This time it was from an NYPD officer in the 6th (as opposed to a Traffic Enforcement Agent). Ticket time says 1 am(!!). This was after the monthly NYMSTF meeting, and I was still in my office finishing up some work.

So, some officer from the 6th was driving by at 1 in the morning. Sees a bike. Stops the car and decides to write a ticket. WTF?

The good news is, I'm getting pretty good at defending these things! I've got a picture and letter at the ready.

periodically a pair of cops will walk the block and inspect all two-wheelers for the purposes of ticketing. i have seen them do it...they really take it seriously looking over, under, and inside the bike to catch violations.

might want to put that sign back.

hell, just walk into the precinct and ask to speak to the d-bag who wrote you. "hey buddy, you wrote me a ticket, can you and your boss come out and take a look at my bike?"

maybe they say "no"...but it'll be a right laugh if they bite.

of course, they might go to the well and arrest you for "disorderly conduct."

by the way, you need a new sign.

proscribed = forbidden.

hth.

also...has to be visible when approaching the bike from the left side...so "buried behind the fairing" may not exactly be visible when approaching from the left.

Only if the cop is a midget. YMMV.

So basically they can go over the bike with a fine-tooth comb looking for violations but it's too f'ing difficult to find a legally placed inspection sticker just because it isn't on the lower part of the fork where they're accustomed to finding it.

That soundaboutright?
