I just got popped for TWO, yes 2 parking ticks on 38th btwn 7 & 8th aves.
One for no plate, other for parking in commercial only (the typical midtown). Both were taken off my VIN number which I had 3 heavy duty pieces of tape covering on the frame, peeled up for effect. When I pulled out (quickly because this happened once before and they caught me and asked to see the plate to make tickets more valid...) a bunch of truck drivers hanging on the street were calling out to me, my guess trying to make me wait for the ticket cunt who roams the area. I'd have none of that and split down 2 lanes of packed trucks, clipped 3 mirrors, no fucking apologies. I ain't paying them unless they show up on my DMV plate ticket search. |

Perry, that sucks. It's happening all over town. 2 commuters up here on Park and 40s got 2 tickets each yesterday - one for plates, the other for parking on the sidewalk. Riding in NYC is starting to blow....but hey, that ain't gonna stop me. And yes, I still split lanes!

Starting too...... It's blown for the last 4 yrs, worse annually.PS - they got me for splitting lanes on 2nd ave 3 yrs ago, tried to fight it because it was a legit split to save me from Mohanchie crunch between two double buses. Lost anyways, fucking judge was a HD rider, made sure everyone knew it too, total prick. I remember riding here in the 80's/90's, ahhh those were the days. |

Haha reminds of me the PC game 'Road Rash'..... 'The City' was kind of a hard track, with crazy traffic! Guess the game was realistic :)

I have seen uniformed officers driving what looked to be a standard NYC taxi. Not sure if it was to catch cab drivers or what. I would think the city could make a lot more money cracking down on commercial vehicles than bothering with motorcycles. Hell I have an intersection near my place that has a constant stream of failure to stop violations all day long. A cop could just sit in a lawn chair on the sidewalk and nail just about every car that passes. |

I saw Highway Patrol tending to a downed rider on the northbound FDR between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges at about 520pm today.
The bike was upright and the rider's helmet was on the mirror. Anybody know what happened? |

CENTER HARBOR, N.H. (AP) -- A New York City police officer has died from injuries he suffered in a crash during the Lake Region's annual Motorcycle Week, authorities said Friday.
William Weghorst, 39, lost control of his motorcycle on Route 25 late Tuesday night and ran off the road, police said. He died Wednesday. Weghorst joined the New York Police Department in 1995 and worked as a patrolman in Manhattan, the department said. Police are still investigating the crash, but said it appears speed played a role. Weghorst was not wearing a helmet, authorities said. New Hampshire law does not require it. Not Good. |

Do you find that they show up sooner or later? I ask because we're told that we are NEVER supposed to write parking tickets only to a VIN, they stopped us from doing that back in the '90s. I guess some DOT agent wanted to meet her daily quota, legit or not. |

The great escape
Hi Perry,
You have to calm down a little. These are parking tickets. The agent can not strip search you for your plate Try to cut back on the clipped mirrors. It’s like smoking cut back by one a day until you break the habit. Will we see you at 3AM? Alfred

Hey Al, believe it or not, one time an agent called her police escort to block me off at the end of a street of 5th ave. Then they forced me to hand over my plate and re wrote the tickets, this was a few yrs ago. Don't know anything about 3am, guess it's another 5 boro midnight run.(?) If it's this wknd no go, I'm out at folks place for dad day. Cheers, see ya soon. |
