I am outa here
Howdy All,
Well the "Chernobyl Chariot" is loaded up, the camper is on the truck and I am about 15 minutes from being GONE. "East bound and down, big diesel humming we gonna do what they say can't be done" Me and Don will be the first people to ever attempt this ride with side-car rigs so it should be great fun not only for us but for those who get a chance to witness our tri-pod mode of insanity See Y'all there.

I was just checking to see if you guys knew when it was.
I did the Ironman Poker Run in '93 & '94. The first year it rained in the lowlands, snowed at the higher elevations, and was muddy and wet and thoroughly miserable. The second year was so dry that the dust was choking and caked in every bodily orifice...careful what you wish for. Have fun!

If I do make it I'll be looking for the rolling Adventure Motel.

According to weather.com there's only a 10% chance of rain on Saturday and 30% on Sunday. I don't think it'll be very wet. Probably like last year where a few showers came through, but it was pretty nice otherwise.

hawgu82, I'd like to head over, but I have to work Saturday and maybe Sunday.
I was thinking back to the dusty year...I remember at about mile 40 seeing the dual sport guys turn off the pavement onto a nice flat dirt road. They were clean and happy and I was dirty and tired and had, by then, lost track of how times I'd fallen. Yeah...good times.

Granitehead, sounds like you would make a good candidate for the Dual Sport conversion program. Or have you already switched from iron man to dualsport?--- Mark---

All y'all have a good time, hear?
Everybody go get just injured enough so's you can prove you had a good time, but nobody get hurt bad enough that it can't be made better with a pat on the back and a sip of beer. |
