I just re-found some pics I had of my 640 the first weekend I had her, posted before on another thread but I thought I'd repost them.

Whatever. There wouldn't be a muffler shop in business if this were true. There is a hell of a lot more electronics in a modern car than a motorbike.

I'm not that stupid. Battery was disconnected, and all fuses I could find were pulled. The very first thing I did after the welding was done was fire it up. All good. I've read too many threads about fried electronics to have the same thing happen to me. Thanks for the credit though

There is a lot of room to add reinforcing to the frame back there. I didn't at the time, but if I ever intend on carrying big bags, I would do a little bit off welding to beef it up.

My 640 adventure

I finally got my 640 adventure. Flew to Tuscon, loaded up the bike and rhode it back to Salt Lake. Here's a few pics

Loaded with all my gear and ready to go (thanks KenR for the bags).

Sunrise outside of Bryce Canyon

I had to ride some dirt on the way home

Here's a pic out on the Burr Trail two weeks later with the Happy Trail Panniers installed.

This bike rocks

So my buddy let me ride his 640. Preaching to the choir here, but this thing is amazing. It was a tad soft so feedback was an issue-but that could be fixed.

In the end, if someone made me choose between a wr450 or a 640, I would take the 640. Why? For 70 percent of riding out here Colorado, it is perfect. For everything else, there is my TTR.

I think the 640 is everything a KLR wants to be.

Enjoy.
