City Navigator Europe with US basemap

Folks,

I have a 276c GPS with a US basemap and it looks like my company is going to transfer me back to Gawd's Country (Scotland ).

Can I simply purchase City Navigator Europe and us my same GPS without 1) purchasing a GPS with a Atlantic basemap or 2) have the unit reprogrammed? My gut feeling is that it doesn't matter what the base map is as I can turn it off via the GPS but it's worth asking.

Together with my American wife, I'm going to see my home country through new eyes!
Cheers
Steven

The basemap is irrelevant in normal use. I've been using a USA Nav II in the UK for the last 18 months with no problems - until the screen went tits up & those nice people at Garmin replaced it with a European unit...

You'd do well to buy the European mapping before you leave the USA - I'm pretty sure it's not available for sale as a separate item in Europe...

MikeO,

Went and purchased the software....Thanks for your input.

Now I'm hoping my boss is true to his word and he sends us back to Gawd's Country before the next Hurricane Season starts over here and before August when the first snows land in Aberdeen
