New review

Greetings--

I, too, bought an Airoh S4 and have to agree with the others: its a very comfortable helmet thats an awesome value. I am very glad I got it.

I bought mine from dirtbikexpress.com in England. I was unable to buy it online due to some weirdness with their website so I called my order in. I could hear the guy running my credit card and the resultant printout. He took the size and color then asked me to email the shipping address so he got it right. He replied to the email, stating that my helmet would arrive in 3-5 working days. After about 4 days I get an email from him telling me he lost my order and that I need to reply with the size and color I wanted. Another week passes and I get another email finally giving me the shipping details, telling me it went out that day when in fact it had not. I eventually got the helmet (about 2 weeks from the original phone call) but the service I received was not confidence inspiring, especially given the cost of shipping.

That being said, I still love this helmet.

Thanks for the review. I saw this helmet mentioned in another thread here, and have been contemplating it for general DS/commuting use.

I may have missed the followup answer, but can goggles be worn with the shield still in place?

Thanks for the writeup, guys.

check out custom lids

great stuff here - i just ordered two of these for myself and another rider.

ordered from http://www.customlids.co.uk/ and Neil matched the price of 90 GBP/ea. that i saw at http://www.chasesuperbikecentre.co.uk/

he also has stock of the black visor for 35 GBP AND shipping for both helmets + visor is 25 GBP to US/Canada (which is half of quoted shipping i got from other UK distributors).

ill try and update when i get the goods. ciao for now!

Any updates on the Airoh? I'm in the market for a dual sport helmet, I wear a Shoei large.

S4 Sizing

I don't know if this will be of any help but my KBC helmets are size Large and my S4 is a medium. If I remember right, there were sizing measurements on the Dirt Bike Express website..........

Yep, my KBC is a large, my Airoh is a medium. My Airoh fits just slightly tighter, but still well within the comfort range.

I used the Airoh sizing chart and took actual measurements of my head, worked fine.

Thanks for the update, 007

Can we get a definitive on whether the shield can be lowered with goggles in place?

You'll have to get that from someone else. I don't wear goggles. I've wished I did a few times though.

Thanks man, just rying to put more variables into equation.

One more question, did you have to pay any other fees (taxes, customs duties, etc ) or was the final price as advised? I mean helmet $ + S&H

I like the more beaked one ... it is just me or will it provide more crashworthiness than the round designs?

Like the shell being more far away from one's chin being better.

The Tyger? Mine broke my collar bone in a fallover LOL. But that was mainly because I didn't wear a foam roost guard at the time. I think any helmet will wind up doing that with the right kind of fall and lack of collar bone padding.

I saw someone break their nose from inside a dirt helmet. Maybe it was the goggles though. I imagine they would get all crooked in a crash and take your nose with them. My fear is getting speared in the face with a branch. Happens all the time to me and that's why I wear a full face shield.

Dangit, I can't find the shield, and they want to charge 54 gbp for shipping, for just one helmet. There's gotta be an easier way to get one of these helmets.

Was it ever determined whether goggles would fit at all? I couldn't get them to fit in my Tyger.
