GPS Europe vs North America

I am thinking about buying a garmin quest. My question is will it work in Canada?

yes it will, but ....
you'll buy a Europe-Version of the quest - you will get CitySelect Europe (so you will have all the maps for Europe to load into your Quest). You also will have a world map on it. (but only with poor Data like big cities and roads).
So you have to buy City Select US additional and load this maps when you go to Canada.

It'll work all over planet Earth, but you'll need the maps for the area.

MetroGuide Canada V4 takes up 289.9 MB without autorouting and 324.6 MB with autorouting, so you might have to cart a laptop along if your GPS doesn't have the necessary memory space.

Of course, I could also load the maps (whatever will fit) onto your unit when you get here. A special favour from a Rockwell College student.

Buy a Garmin 60 Cx instead. It has many advantages over the Quest, primarily...memory cards.

Just noticed this thread, so I went and lifted my Quest, never new the world map was on it, because I had scrolled across, and come across a grid, in the middle of the Atlantic. Kept scrolling and there it was, the rest of the world, WOW!, I felt like Columbus. But I have to tell you there are no roads around the States, and Canada, just the main cities marked, and the state borders. Ta for the information. Oh also just discovered, after a second scroll the other direction, that all the main roads are loaded for Africa and Asia....Mongolia here I come
