K&N Air Filters
I read little bits about people modifying the airbox. I was wondering if anyone had tried using two K&N air filters and dust covers instead of the large flat stock filter. I was thinking of going this route. K&N basicly said they could do it knowing the flange measurements. I was thinking the pipe, more air, and some jetting adjustment would bring out some more ponies. What do ya all think? Is this a good way to go? I am a little hesitant to start cutting into the airbox.

Biggest increase will be in noise from the intake.

See the lengthy previous thread on this topic..The DNA filter especially with the Sommer airbox mods will flow a LOT more air & yes, make a LOT mor intake noise, and also allow much faster revving, better idle, less stalling, easier starting, better response, and of course, more peak HP....
You will need bigger mains and so on, to compensate for all the extra air, but, it's all good. JM LA, CA |

less stalling,...... Less than Zero ????????????????????????? easier starting,...... Mmmmmm Less vacuum........ Don't think so better response,....... "As Above" ..........Definitely not !!!!!! and of course, more peak HP.... Lost performance, but :- more peak HP Then you can go around and tell everybody that their 950 is fucked. ![]() If you want to stick K&N pods on you should consider some non CV carbs
