Denver to Manitou

Well, since the purpose was to ride in the Manitou/Co Springs area and only could ride til noon due to other plans, I did take parts of I-25 to get down there. Don't hate me for interstate riding, haha.

So I left at 8:20, took Lincon to I-25 south to Castle Pines Parkway. I exited and took Daniels Park past Sanctuary Golf Course, which I have had the honor of playing at two weeks ago.

From Daniels Park

Clubhouse

View from overlook at park

Entrance to Sanctuary

Daniels Park heading to 85

I then went south on 85 to Castle Rock, through Castle Rock and south on 25 to the 181 exit and took the west frontage road to Tomah campground and saw this BNSF loco stopped on the head end of a coal train going to the Springs.

I then got back on 25 and exited Larkspur. This next one is of Spruce Mountain Road, connecting Larkspur to Palmer Lake.

Must be part of your super-secret double-naught spy work with your low-level FEMA clearance and (snicker) Texas Security License, yes?

More

Palmer Lake Sinclair. Gatorade stop and talked to a guy with a cool Ram/Cummins with stacks but didn't get pics.

I then went through Palmer Lake to Monument then back to 25. I took Hwy 24 to 21st past Colorado Springs BMW to Gold Camp.

Gold Camp Road

Bike with old tree and rock outcropping

Cheyenne Mountain from Gold Camp

Gold Camp dirt, yes I actually got some dirt in

Drop off from road

Tunnel #1

Helen Hunt Falls

And finally Cheyenne Canyon Road

Took that back down to town and into Manitou.

Thanks for looking!

Are you talking about photo size? The only way I can upload them is to use the Webshots prompt, not the "mountain-link" thing that this site uses, I have tried. The only way it lets me do it is through webshots and using smaller photos, sorry!

Nick,

Just curious; where do you live? I ask because I live close to Lincoln and I-25. Never hurts to know where all the close ADV riders are.
