I know exactly what you mean about "too fancy". Although the tuxedo is my favorite of the factory options. I've got two "fancy tanks" now and want something more rough and tumble. I've gotten proficient at changing tanks, so don't mind switching on a semi-regular basis. It's kind of fun.

Got my hands full today with this:

Thanks. Waiting to hear back from a painter about clear coating the bare metal. Thinking about a simple black stripe off center down the length of the tank. We'll see.

xaman - have you thought about relocating the rear brake caliper to protect it more with this: http://www.newbonneville.com/html/rear_caliper_relo.html It looks like you are offroad quite a bit with those tires and this might be good to have. Just a thought...

You can also get one from triumphtwinpower http://www.triumphtwinpower.com/ttp-...er-bracket.php. It΄s more expensive but a new break line comes along in the box.

Yeah that's on the list, should've done it a long time ago. I've heard the fit is tight with the stock brake line. henryII, do you know if the included brake line is longer, or just a new one with factory specs?

xaman - The "up and over" that I have on my Scrambler is the one mentioned above by HenryII from triumphtwinpower and I think the PO of my bike used the stock brake line as it is a bit tighter when the bike is unladened - wish he had put on the longer brake line that came with - but the stock line seems to work alright as some slack is introduced when the rider is on the bike.

I know what you mean about the factory pinstriped ones. I got a "scratched" blue and white one off ebay for $200 to do a custom paint job on. But the scratch was only in the clear coat and very minor, I didn't have the heart to mess it up. Ended up buying a dented black tank that I repaired and painted orange.
