Price on a leftover 09
My brother is thinking of purchasing a leftover 09. Any information on what he should pay? I see Bonnies going for less than $8k but little info on scramblers.

Ready to Rumble!
Received my Works piggyback shocks yesterday.
What an improvement! No more kick! Now I don't tighten up every time some bumps come up. What a transformation in suspension action. Probably any shock change nets similar results, but now I believe. I will do the front forks in the manner blacktiger has described. I also have my Gerbings pigtail for heated gear bolted up. Oh yeah... Cold rides are much easier now.If you haven't experienced heated gear, its time to do so. Just have to get my feet up to temp also. My bike is getting closer to being ready for some regional touring next year... In style! ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, putting on longer shocks makes for a centerstand that barely gets the tire off the ground and virtually no clearance between the chain and the stand foot. FYI

Buell Ulysses pegs on a Scrambler?
Quick question - I was having a look at a Ulysses footpeg base from americansportbike.com which has a 1" drop. They'd give me some more leg room, which I desperately need. I know that Uly pegs can be made to fit the Tiger easy enough, but don't know about the Scram. The width is fine, any thoughts on the rest?
Thanks.

What were you trying to gain with those shocks ? They don't appear to have any more travel the bottom eye mount is just longer. Were you just trying to get a little quicker steering or what ? I'm not sure of the benefit , it just jacked the rear end up without gaining that much or any wheel travel at all. Other than that Works shocks are great.

A slight bit of ground clearance is gained also. I have not compared travel of these compared to stock. I will do so. The rear is raised 20mm.

Hello everybody,
I'm the happy owner of a RD04 Africa Twin bought in the summer of 2008. But I'm starting to dream of a matt green Scrambler with Arrow exhaust, bash plate, engine guards, windscreen and two or three mods more. My question is: How will it perform in a two-up travel, 3000 km, mixing highway, twisties and some non-asphalt lanes (Stella Alpina for example), carriying luggage and camping equipment. I don't need neither a high speed on asphalt nor extreme off-road capabilities, but a go-everywhere bike that not demand a lot from his rider. So, if I buy this dream-bike and take it to the Alps and back, will I miss my big trailie? All advice is welcome Thank you very much |

IMHO the Scrambler is better off as a solo bike. That's not saying it won't cope two up with luggage but that just what it'll do. i.e. cope.
