Greetings folks,

I'm Alex, riding only about a month until now, and loved every minute and second of it.

I'm moving to Dublin soon (tuesday actually) and my bike (F650) will probably follow sometimes in August (the sooner the better). "She'll" be travelling to Amsterdam on a trailer and will pick it up from there, either on wheels for a longer weekend ride or some ferry from Rotterdam.

Actually I need some help/advice, as follows:

I'm considering a move from the US to Cork and am trying to understand the Irish tax system. Could use some help making sure I interpreted the Irish tax code correctly.

Assuming I am married/single income/with kids, my tax rate would be:

20% for the first 44,000 euro
41% on all income thereafter

2% Health contribution on the entire income

and then a series of tax credits based on my personal circumstances are applied to the above.

Are there other taxes/contributions I need to be aware of ? (not things like vehicle registration - but stuff that is based on my income level).

Dublin rider here ,always up for off road excursions bout Dublin and Wicklow,dyin to take a trip down to Kerry plenty of hills and coastline,any cork kerry riders on recommend anywhere

Always up for any kind of a spin. Check irishbikerforum.com if your bored on a wednesday evening or sunday morning and near dublin as there's always a spin organised, on the road of course. =D

From Derry but been in New York for the last 25 years.
on a 2008 GSA and a 250KLR for back and forth to work.
Used to roadrace in New Hampshire and out at Bridgehampton but the wife and kids talked me into retirement. (Pussy whipped) I know what you are thinking.

In an 1.5 month ill be visiting Dublin ill make sure to say: advrider? to any ktm rider i encounter =)

well I'm down here in cork....as i've said. I'm currently organising a ride to mongolia for next year...small group around six weeks travelling. post here or pm if you want to come along...I've done simiar trips already so dont bother if you're just blowing smoke cause this is definate. This is NOT an organised tour......I'm just going so let me know!!!!
