20.000 Miles done in South-, Central and North America

Hi guys

My Tour de Americas is just about done. I have traveled 20.000 miles (31.000 km) from Chile to the US on my Aprilia Capo Nord ETV1000.

I have be doing a video log all along. To watch it go to www.race2aid.org (youtube.com/kaiserkyhl)

or to see more pictures, become my friend on Facebook. Search for "Mikkel Thomsen".

Next the bike and I will fly back to Colombia from Miami and my plan is to start a Adventure Hostel with my girlfriend down there. So look me up if your heading that way in about one month time!

Keep ridin' in the free world!
Mike

yeah I heard something about that. Seamed pretty safe when I was there about 3 month ago. I think you need to be super unlucky and tour in areas where you shouldn't go, to run in to those FARC guys now.

Colombia was one of the friendliest countries I visited coming up. I was much more scared in Peru and Nicaragua.

Take care!
Mike

(I added some emphasis). I totally agree- everyone in Colombia was very nice. We loved our time there and should have spent much longer.

The only people that get kidnapped are those who fall in one or more of these categories:
* traveling in dangerous/unsafe areas (such as the jungles and Darien Gap)
* running drugs
* ties to gangs or criminal groups (such as Hells Angels)
* have political or economic importance (oil execs on business)

Hi there

I'm sorry, but I had a hard disc crash erasing 50GB video including that Peru video. Luckily I still have the Digital tapes, but they have been shipped home to Denmark and will have to be edited again some time in the future!

Its working fine here though and I have tried it on several computers.

Here's a direct link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7_RNajJ0Syw

Best
Mike
