Here's my XR project, before...

BEFORE: I really like the XR650R and it is no doubt a great bike. I had a thread going on a minor build up on mine, here is a before picture...

Here's my XR project after...

AFTER: I tinkered with my XR a lot and did a lot of mods to it, but i noticed it was starting to look a lot like a 640 adventure...

After all the mods and orange paint I realy like my bike now... Its everything I was hoping it would be!

Hey z! Nice job on your bike! Looks great! Sorry to disapoint you on my build up...

Anybody doing an XR buildup, z is a great source of knowledge and a good guy!

watts and mileage

Paul,

The pig pen has the electrical output of the US bike at 55 watts. The European model puts out 77 watts stock. In my experience gas mileage at 70mph is usually about 43-45 mpg. I am running the stock carb with a 165 main.

LOL! Yeah, it’s amazing what a little paint, bailing wire and duct tape will do.

I see the family resemblance!

You have gone over to the dark side.... 8^)

I just picked mine up three weeks ago and have had it stripped down in the living room ever since replacing/adding parts and cleaning it up. Here is the before pic, I should have the after pics available within the next week or two once all of parts get in and it will look mcuh better imo. First thing I did was pull the giant tank and replaced with an Clarke 4.3.... and of course removed all of the stickers. Not to mention the other $600+ worth of toys I have bought for it!
I sold my 02 VFR800 over the weekend and as soon as the buyer mails the tag back I can transfer the title for the BRP from South Carolina to NC. Hopefully it all goes smoothly!
