A New $0.99 GPS Tool

A good alternative to Spot and DeLormeInReach. WanderLust is changing the GPS messaging business and this is good for riders around the world!

WanderLust works with just a flicker of voice signal. Of course it also works with full voice signal, Edge and 4G LTE.

It seems like many of the places I go for more than 1 nite are on the fringes of cell service (Verizon). RDV and Notta are two. For .99 I just may try it, and see if any messages get out.

WVhillbily and udoggie it really depends on your cellular provider.

For example, my ridding buddy has Verizon and amazingly when we venture out into remote places my riding buddy always has at least voice signal so WanderLust is a great fit for him. Plus he is just not willing to pay $350 and then have a monthly fee for a Spot or DeLorme InReach. Currently my riding buddy is covering 1200 miles of remote dirt roads around Telluride, CO using only WanderLust.

Additionally, many of our test users found that by going to high point they could get enough signal for WanderLust to work. It's worth noting that if in dense trees or a tight canyon Spot and DeLorme InReach will not work and WanderLust is a good option.

At only $0.99 WanderLust may be worth a try.

Give it a shot and I'm available to answer any questions you have. Thanks for your support.

I got frustrated with my deLorme inReach so I wrote this app. Actually had GPS messages fail to go through occasionally with the delorme and any sort of tree coverage or tight canyon
rendered the delorme useless.

Not yet! Gauging interest for an Android version now. Also, the Android version is dependent on the iPhone version being a success. Thanks for your interest!

I'll give it a try from the wilds of MT in about 2 weeks.

Thanks for giving it a shot!

For some like my ridding buddy that I mentioned above the adopt option works. He fully adopted it and uses no other GPS messaging tools while adving due to his amazing Verizon coverage. For others, an adapt option may be a good fit. For example WanderLust may allow some riders to reduce their monthly/yearly service fee with Sport/Delorme and use WanderLust for most messages while hanging onto the SOS feature. There are many different ways WanderLust might work into your GPS tool chest globally. Yes, globally WanderLust has been tested internationally.

Like I said in the XRL thread, I'm in for an Android version.

I let a buddy of mine with an IPhone know and he's already downloaded it. We're heading out to Colorado at the end of the month and are hoping this will be a good SPOT substitution.
