Velcro on boots not working :(

So I am using a cheaper pair of Alpinestars right now. I should have bought a pair of boots with buckles but I didn't.

Anyway, my right boot velcro keeps coming undone, like the velcro is worn out. The boots aren't even a year old. I will get some DS boots sometime in the near future, but for now, does anyone have any ideas to fix this problem? Its the upper big velcro and lower ankle one.

Hmm......

Nick

Yeah, after a broken ankle in velcro strapped Dainese, I went for Sidi Discovery boots just to get good cinching buckles and a little heavier leather. A decent shoe/boot repair shop can replace your velcro with new or add buckles if you want. I'd give it a try.

My local shoe guy replace the velcro on mine. He didn't have any in-stock so I ran up the street to a place he recommended and purchased the material. $2 for the velcro and $8 to the shoe guy and I was good to go.

The stuff we used was much better than the original. Like you, the original last a year. Four years later and the replacement stuff is fine.

Is the velcro clean? Sometimes the hook side gets full of lint and pieces of thread or whatever and doesn't work anymore. You can pick it out with your fingernails or use a wire brush to rejuvenate it. If it is clean and still doesn't work, you have other problems.

For a change of Velcro to buckles. Ask this guy "SamTheEagle".
