Skidplate for 2007 R1200GSA

Hi,

I am going to change the OEM headers. The new ones don't have the crossover pipe in front.

Is it possible to make the skid plate a bit more upright in front. It will follow the shape of the engine more, and, in my opinion, look better

Ernie, if you do this count me in for a set too. I smashed my stock plate this last weekend while doing the Jimmy Lewis course.

Your product showed up at my door this evening! Great looking kit! Thanks for your prompt attention. I should be installing it tomorrow, but it'll have to wait till afternoon. We have a morning temp of 40 or 41 F. I need another ride before winter hits. I'll send pics of the install. THANKS AGAIN!

I'm hoping that there might be a way to eliminate that bottom bar. I have the same setup, and i think that the sw bars design is good. it will provide a good base for the skid plate. Perhaps a bit a tweaking can get the ends to mount into the skid plate rather than cut these areas out....

R1200GS skidplates

Just a little note to say that I've got a couple of skidplates ready for father and son (Micheal and Adam) ready to ship out. This is the first time I've made them for a father, son team. I think it's very cool. My own father does'nt have a clue about bikes. My daughter Tia loves riding and going to rally's. She hit her first rally at 4 and has'nt missed very many since.
Thanks Ernie

Hi Adam, Please let your Dad know that the skidplates are indeed on the way. How cool. New bike toys just in time for Christmas. I'd sure appreciate it if you would send me a picture of both of you with your bikes down the road. I keep a photo album of all the riders with bikes that have bought skidolates from me. You two would be the first father, son in the album. Enjoy the skidplates. Merry Christmas. Ernie

Great!! Thanks for building and shipping them off so quickly. I can't wait to see them in person, and I know my father is excited as well. I will be sure to send you a few pictures for your album and this thread. Thanks again. Adam

skidplate

Hi Silverdog, I have been asked to make a skidplate for the KTM950 in the past but it is quite a bit more complex than the beemer skidplates that I make. First thing I would need is a donor bike to build a model from and I don't have one available. I hope to borrow Rokklyms new 650 V strom this winter to make some goodies for it. I'll be starting a new day job tomorrow and my spare free time may be cut back for a while. Sure would be nice to be retired and have a fleet of demo bikes on hand to fab stuff for. Ernie

skidplates

Hi Guys, Would anyone have a factory R1200GS skidplate they would want to part with. I would like to have one for some before and after photos if you know what I mean. If you have your old skidplate hanging on a nail in the garage let me know and I'll either buy it off you or trade you for a cool bike accessory. Thanks and Merry Christmas. Ernie
