CO Last Week
Although I did not take any pics up there, the ride over Grand Mesa (route 65 from Orchard City to Mesa) may have been the highlight of the loop. You go up and down to 11,000 feet, like going over a pass, but stay at altitude for miles in the cool air. It's beautiful, forested and Alpine lake scenery, with amazing views at the edges. I rode from Denver over Loveland Pass, down to US 50, over Monarch Pass, visited Black Canyon again, down to Ouray, around the San Juan Skyway (astounding), visited Mesa Verde again, up and over Grand Mesa, down to Aspen and over Indepaendence Pass, up to Leadville and on to Steamboat Springs, across the Poudre, down the Peak-to-Peak and back to Denver last week.
