I've attended this the past 2 years and numerous post MLRs. I was also at Terry Hammond's funeral a little over a year ago. We still camp out at the family farm and the community is keeping his event alive. Terry is gone but certainly not forgotten.

This story about the MLR (Moonshine Lunch Run) was just published to the web http://www.ridermagazine.com/rallies...-lunch-run.htm

My plans are to attend. I usually head up on Thursday and come home Saturday or Sunday.

Ever Have One of Those Perfect Rides?

It was a great start. It is supposed to rain all afternoon. But the morning looks good. Check the radar. I have a couple of hours...
It's 58 degrees, dry, a little windy but looks like a great time for a ride.
The bike is running as strong as I can remember. The recently upgraded front end feels great. Scooched way up front in the saddle, she handles like on rails.
It's the perfect ride. Running strong, handling well, no music...noting but the sound of the wind and motor (and sometimes hum from the tires).
A slop-poke Sunday driver is not even a sore spot this morning. Easy enough to quickly get around.

That-is....until I hit Kingston Springs. I guess these strong winds have brought in the driving rains earlier than (I) expected.
Armed with riding undergarments, jeans, a non-waterproof riding jacket and hiking boots... I left all the good gear hanging in the garage.. I'm only out for a quickie!

About an hour and a half into my ride, I pull back into the garage dripping, a little chilled and laughing at the current downpour going on outside. Oh and now it's in the 40's. I hang my gear to dry, wipe down my helmet (as I usually do), pull off my wet clothes, build a fire and search for some hot soup.

It all started out as the perfect ride. Felt good all the way home, even in the rain. Funny how I didn't feel chilled until I got home and out of the wind and rain.

Ride on!

hey all - relatively new to the Franklin/Cool Springs area.

Does anyone get together to watch the MotoGP, WSBK or AMA races?

Ha! With the coverage that it seems will be happening this year ( or NOT happening as appears to be the case)....don't know how much "watching" there will be!

Welcome to the area.....check out the thread on mid-tenn meet to eat. One coming up next week. Hope to see there.

Thinking about camping and riding with the family around Jackson, TN, early May. Any local spots, y'all would be willing to share? I'll have a couple XR's and a plated XT225. Don't care about single track or MX. Just some place to let the kids ride and relax. A clear water creek would be icing on the cake.

Thx...nlp

funny how life works out. we moved back to the states and i thought i would get back into dirt biking. But its not worked out that way.

instead we discovered TN is great for trail running. Its not something i ever though i would do, but its been a lot of fun. Doing the CMM in a few weeks, signed up for the Nashville Ultra in June, Stump Jump 50k in Oct, then Nashville 50mile in Nov. Should be a fun year if training goes well.
