Pissed F#@&!%& Web Filtering

Well today was a very sad day. My company has updated its web filtering software and ADVRider has been cutoff

http://www.websense.com/global/en/Re...bFiltering.php

It uses a "master database" as a reference to questionable sites but I am not quite sure how it works yet. So... could it be as simple as removing "...message forums" from the meta tags on AVDRider or is ADVRider black listed forever? It might be time to bribe the IS dudes

Depending on how much of a nerd you are, you can bypass the firewalls. Alot of firewalls will allow VNC traffic to go through them. You can set up your home computer as a VNC server and then connect to it from your work computer. You can Google 'VNC' for more info. I prefer TightVNC.

You can also Google 'bypass firewall' for more information and other services that are available.

You could use AOL. IF you are using your personal PC log onto AOL thru your personal pc and go from there, or install AOL on your work pc.

We have websense and others here at work and I use my personal laptop for this..

Let us not forget anonymous surfing sites:

http://www.proxify.com

Both of these work against Blue Coat Web Filter
