Your trails look fucking awesome. Next time I'm roadtripping to Florida, the MTB is coming with me.

To the left is a very wide section of trail that cars use to drive in and out of the pit area on race days. It's a pretty smooth slope, though. No drops anywhere on it.

They're not all like that. That's the roughest section of the Vortex trail, which is considered the most difficult trail at Santos.

Yeah - I'm also going by the other youtube links you've posted here. They seem like a blast!

They are. Santos wouldn't be IMBA-ranked, if it weren't.

OK. That's a different place, from what I was thinking.

With any luck and some strategic money-stashing, I'll be back in Tampa sometime in May. Hopefully our riding can take us back to Santos this time. Alafia is okay and Boyette is marginally better, but neither compare to Santos' system of trails.

Same here...although most of the time my head and helmet closely follow said shoulder into the tree...LOL

Good to know. It will save me a long drive out there.

I lost my blinky light somewhere on the road tonite. I *think* I know which road. May have to ride back out Fri and take a looksee.

3-ish hrs of gravel and pavement tonite. Mostly gravel. Fresh gravel that is! Thank doG for 32c semi-slick tubulars!

Here's a video of the recent 12 Hours of Santos race, showing that wide trail. It's the one all the riders are lined up on, waiting for the race to start. The camera pans around to give you an idea of where it is relative to the Vortex pit.

I guess, I don't remember exactly where that's at, as it was 2yrs ago and there are too many miles of trail.

Boyette is really nice and I love riding there when I get down to Tampa. Ridgeline always rocks and is nicer now that it's re-opened. Upper and lower spider berm are my two favorites as well as golf cart. It's a good mix of riding for the area and much less technically demanding as Alafia.

I would say Santos offers a blend of Alafia and Boyette with much longer runs and a bit more climbing.

Interesting concept. I guess the width of the lane would be determined by how high up you mount the light.
