I've gotten to the point where in the wee hours of the morning I kinda of like hopping to the cool tile floor of the bathroom to ge that damned shin-cramp to release.

Do you guys cook with sea salt or table salt? I wonder if switching to KNO3 from NACl a few years back was enough to get rid of the leg cramps I used to get at night.

My own personal experience is that if I don't eat a banana a day, I get cramps.
I've never once gotten cramps from any kind of physical activity. 'Bonked' once, but never had a cramp.

This is an indicator that Stava is not challenging enough and you are ready for the next level. Time to sign up for some real races so that you can test your mettle against other real racers. Interesting things happen in the heat of battle.

Whether I eat bananas or not, if I push it too hard on the early spring rides, my calves lock up, and I have to limp along for a while to recover. After I get a few hundred miles in, I have no issues with cramps. I just have to remember to fuel and hydrate.

4 myths about pro cyclists

I learned a long time ago that sprinters *can* climb. They have to be able to to get to the finish inside the time cuts. The rest? Makes sense if you stop and think about it.

I am confused by this one.
Sea salt and table salt are both NaCl......
Sea salt just has a few more trace elements.

Potasium nitrate (KNo3) is saltpetre.

WoooHooo!

New bikes in the garage!

We brought home a pair of Rocky Mountain Solo CX bikes (his n hers) yesterday.
This means that the weather will suck for a while yet but I'm looking forward to more road miles this season.
I'm aiming for a ride to Calgary at the end of May (from Red Deer). That's
something I wouldn't do on the old mtb even with slicks.

Yup, you're right on the primary compound. My mistake. But sea salt can provide a bit of potassium, calcium and magnesium where table salt is nearly 99.9% NaCl.
