It all started with someone stuffing a motor in a bicycle.

Northern northern MI, or northern southern MI?

You got the wrong impression of us. If yer doing 50mi/week on that, yer a MUCH better man than the rest of us. No shorts, no clipless pedals and shoes, no road bike (efficient), etc.

Nope. My hat's off to ya.

Now, if you'd go to PBS and get ye some bicycle shorts to go under the plaid jobbies, and maybe some pedals and cleats, THEN we'd

I'm teasing you guys.

This thread is a must-see for me every day.

With new kids and big girls to drop off at school, I haven't been riding to work the way I was last year, but I do try to at least go out for a 10+ mile ride at lunch, at least four days a week.

It's all hills around here. Yesterday was a tough one, but it was a beautiful ride. I'd sure like another bike, but I just can't afford it right now, and I've certainly made good use of the bike I have.

Katie's out of school now, so I may start riding back and forth a couple of days a week again, too.

Yer going to kick some ass after doing all those hills. All the guys doing level rides are going to wonder what just blew by them.

"I swear to God, all I saw was a flash of horn-rims, plaid, and mutton-chops!"

I have to search 'em out or do real short loops to get that kind of work-out but it is totally worth the effort.

Hills definitely kick my ass, but they are good for me. Tomorrow will be a 35 miler with some long, steep climbs. I have to lose a few lbs so my Vanson zipper doesn't derail.

Going to play music on the Wabash Trace bicycle rail trail this afternoon and then play again for the people raising money to keep it going in the evening. Was supposed to be at softball all day, but that didn't workout because of the rain north of us.

Maybe I will take the camera and get some pictures. Probably not.

Did I tell y'all that I got my box o' fun in from VA? Well, I did. Rival shifters and generic brakes = working bicycle again. Now all I gotta do is put Rival on in place of D/A and I'll be happier again. Yeah, I know... D/A coming off and Rival going on?! Well, it'll make it easier in the long run if all the parts match. Seems that if I sell, people don't quite understand 'mechanics' specials.'

I'm haring the hash today AND tomorrow PM, as well as having a Camaro that needs a fuel pump replaced. I'm lucky to get in short runs, much less rides right now. Next week, that *should* change.

As a note to y'all that have F-Bodies: the fuel pump does go bad and you hafta drop the rear axle, remove the exhaust, etc. to get the tank out to get to the top of it, where the stuff lives. Who ever designed THAT POS needs to be shot!

Are you going to replace the pump yourself? That sounds like a good weekend project.....although ample amounts of beer would help move things along.
