All I'm sayin is that when I was workin for a Fisher dealer, we didn't have any bikes come in broken.

Now, I can be called gay as in happy, but not gay as in finding love in hairy bungholes. Ya lycra wearing, leg shaving, bicycle riding faggot!

Oh, and BUY A CAR!

I've hadta go back because the wheels I bought were rim-brake only.

What Pierce said:

To recap: Fluid trainers = mo bettah Feels more like the road ie: exponential resistance not linear resistance (mag) and MUCH quieter than fans (DAMHIK)

There's also the electronical gizmos that let you hook up to a monitor/tv/computer and ride against another rider. Motivation for those lonely hours spent on the trainer.

Spinervals = good if you want some hard workouts

I like having both a trainer AND rollers. Rollers keep you from developing bad spins 'cause ya gotta maintian yer position on the rollers or you fall off!

Secondhand is good m'kay.

On that note: if you can get more'n one of yer buddies suckered into riding with you, it makes the time go by faster than if you were riding along. Again, DAMHIK how boring riding the trainer can be. The upside to trainers is that there's no coasting. No tailwinds. No stop signs. Nuthin. You ain't pedalin, you ain't working out.

Next time yer out, pay attention to how often you coast... Its eye opening!

There's really no pigs to be had any more. For example: Tackx makes PBS stuff...

Anyone else?

I have an older Cateye Psychostimulator (aka Cyclosimulator) that I haven't ridden yet. Disc brake and fan combo. Works yer ass but ain't real quiet!

My rollers busted a belt over the summer. Gotta find one of them.

Kurt Kinetic makes very good trainers Linky

The rock and roll trainer gives a little more realistic feel.

If you can at all do it, I'd recommend a spinning class. I've found that after 10minutes at home on the trainer and it's

Having other people around helps keep me going.

I must be the only one on here that loves the rollers

Just finished on them actually. I like them since I can go on them whenever I want, whatever the weather is like and since I work from home, I can easily hop off and respond to emails, phone calls etc. and get back on. I can also do as little or as much as I want/feel like doing and I don't have to worry about getting back home and nor do I have to worry about the asshole drivers in Masshole.

The best thing though is I get to watch TV while I'm exercising

I have a performance brand "century" fluid trainer. It works as intended, but I HATE riding trainers. In Texas, there are only a couple of days per year that are unrideable.

I bought rollers after posting an ad on craigslist for some. I got 4 calls from people wanting to get rid of theirs. I did century rides on rollers last winter. I watch DVD movies and sweat my butt off. I also have a trainer, but I prefer the rollers.

Post a wanted on your local craigslist under bikes and you will hopefully have good luck on finding rollers or trainers.

I'll sell my trainer....but shipping isn't worth it. Again, I HATE this thing, but it's ok when it's 18* and icy outside.

I've ridden in those conditions. Yeah, its warmer inside, but the hardcore/Belgian factor goes thru when yer actually outside!

Went out one day to clear my head. Had a head cold and HAD to do something to be able to breathe!

It was 20deg out and there were prolly 20-ish mph winds. Felt great! I could actually breathe for that hour
