Took a shot from below. Easy to drill up if you have a small cordless drill, use small drill and then finish with larger drill from above, easy.
I haven't noticed any reduction of helmet buffeting (6'6").

Installed mine this weekend. I have the stock GS windscreen in front of them, and the difference was very noticeable. I'm 6'1", on a stock seat. (The bike is the Special Edition, so it's not the GS stock seat, but I digress).

I pulled the beak after marking the holes from below with a sharpie. I was doing other work that required the beak off anyway, so this just made things easier doing it all at once. Added a powerlet plug while I was in there. The black brackets made for a very easy and simple install. I drilled while the beak was off the bike, and then reinstalled. All the holes lined up perfectly, and the screws went in with no issues into the nuts that slid onto the bracket.

The turbulence around my helmet is all but gone. It's more of a gentle breeze now. There is no buffeting in the chest area.

Great combo with the stock screen, IMHO. (Sorry for no pics.)

I just priced the winglets (BMW) for my 06 GS. $300 for the mount, $80 for the winglets, + hardware $20. Gotta be a better way!

The '06 is missing the frame that supports the winglets. It is a support for the headlight on the 07 + bikes that the winglets attach to, according to the dealer.

I'm not sure, so I'm gonna look at a newer bike to see what it is.

Don't need the mounts

I've had the winglets on my '04 1200GS for years and never added the mounts. Just drill the plastic and put in large washers to spread and pressure. 3 yrs later and all's still well no cracks or any other issues.

Yeah, I just added the winglets on my '09 GS to go with my GSA windscreen... I don't see a need for a special "mount".

Just drill into the pastic, and use some fender washers underneath to give it support over a wider area... and you should be good to go.

Additionally, I used the rubber well-nuts which flatten out as your tighten them, and that helps as well.

Thumb No worries!

The obligatory bike pic:

The top. No worries.

The underside- as you can see I went speednuts onto plastic. Don't look too far into it, I'll be replacing them with nuts and panel washers soon.

From the 'driver's hole'

Too easy. As I said, I will replace the fasteners with longer items, and nyloc nuts w/ panel washers approx. 20mm in dia.

Not yet. got medical issues at the moment (Returned from deployment injured) restricting me to merely spending money on the bike

I've heard from guys that the Tall screen doesn't do so much. it's the width you need (ahem) and the winglets work well with the wider screens.

AFAIK.

It's a Givi. My experience with Givi is that they are good, but you run them in the lowest position (as I did on R1150GS). This actually looks really nice fitted, with the beak extension to balance it out. The winglets took about 5 min to do, and it all looks quite good. The extension is an genuine GSA item, about AUD$100. Get the longer screws if you do, you need them. Sig hier.

BTW the ram mount is now fitted to the gauge protection bar for my GPS60CSx. it fits nicely under the screen.

I was thinking of getting black side covers (or painting these ones) and some driving lights.
