Question GS 1200 Seat Height

Anyone know the seat height with the BMW low seat option for the GS1200?

Presently between DS bikes, and being verically challenged, in addition to bad knees, need a DS with decent Seat height.

Tried an 06 Uly with low seat but still too tall.

Presently looking at 07 Uly and GS.

Know they are two totally different rides, however, both have their own good and bad points.

Thanks

BMW quote 810 mm as the low seat height. I suspect that's with the rear suspension preload set mid-way. I have the low seat and the rear preload cranked up to pretty near the maximum. The bike turns much better that way and is, strangely, also more stable in a straight line when it's set up like that.

If you have an inside leg of at least 29 to 30 inches and you're an experienced and competent rider, you should get by ok.

I have a 30" inseam, and the low seat on the GS works fine for me.

37".

It'll be nice to have a bike that fits me.

The Sargent seat on the 12GS lets me flatfoot with my 28" inseam.

Flat foot on Sargent?

Jim,

Is it really true? Standard seat or did you ask for sumpin' special?

My Bill Mayer is okay but a staple has already started scratching it's way through the aluminum side panel on the gas tank. Quality of stitching is really just so-so and it used to lean to port until I had it redone...

Corbin has always served me well but the weight of the "old" design kinda sucked... Maybe Corbin is on the mend.

I have had a Corbin on it, too tall and heavy, and a Bill Mayer, too tall, but a great seat.

I only have 200 miles on the Sargent, but it seems to be good so far. It fits like stock, has adjustability for high and low position, and is lower than the BMW Low seat.

I ordered the Sargent Low Seat. It is a standard seat that they make, and doesn't require a special order, though it did take three weeks anyhow. Best part is you don't need to supply a stock seat.

Thanks

The Sargent low seat may just be the ticket for putting a GS in the garage.

Will get with local dealers this week and investigate options.

Thanks
