Rear wheel grinding feeling when in neutral??

04 R1150 GS Adventure needed new brake pads. Replaced and then rode about 30 miles and back to my house. On low speeds seemed like the bike was not right. On the center stand in neutral the wheel does not spin freely??? Took the wheel off and even the final drive is difficult to turn and seems that it does not spin freely as it used to. This driveshaft has been replaced under warranty and was done recently maybe 2000 miles on it. I have been taking it easy on the GS since. What's wrong with the bike now. BMW Denver says that it might be the final drive bearing... a $500 fix from them. Just when I thought I was happy with the GS again, now this. Thanks for your help in advance... What bearing??? Oh I think it's important to note that when the bike is on the centerstand and you rotate the wheel you feel the vibration type click while holding another part of the frame.
