MZ Baghira (Black Panther) kill switch/ ignition flaking out

I've got a recently purchased (Used) MZ Black Panther and I'm having some problems with electrical gremlins. I'm pretty sure that water has gotten in the kill switch / starter button area and it's killing all electronics intermittently. I disassembled, cleaned it up, put it back together. It didn't work immediately, but 5 minutes later everything was working again. This started after a ride in the rain, and sometimes the bike electronics will just all cut off when the starter button is pushed and I won't be able to get them back. Wait a while, come back and maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I don't think I'll be able to get a replacement switch, and I'm not sure I'd want one if I could get it. I'd like to replace with a better designed unit, but I'm not sure where to get one.

Any suggestions on a good unit I could swap in?

If I recall correctly, these is a connector under the seat. I had to do a road
side repair on one of those. Clean it, and put a zip tie around it to keep a
better connection. Could be your problem.
