Mrdirtbikerider, look into the 19" front rim with Adv hub and Buchanan spokes. It will add the front end tracking you feel missing, on the dirt roads!

I have been watching for a used Adv hub so I can do a 19". What size spacer did you use on the front?

Well, just ordered some more HiFlo oil filters at around $7 a pop. I cannot believe the OEM filters are $20+ plus per. That is just ridiculous. Probably should switch to the stainless filter soon. I have the CJ see-through clutch cover now, so don't really care about "reading the pleats" to divine water pump issues.

I been running the green box filters as long as I have owned my LC8. It had orange box ones put in it while the PO had it, but that ended when I took over.
Reading the pleats... hehe...
Had the SS filters in my RFS, since it had two, but I didn't have a ultra sonic cleaner so they got grungy. Even with solvent and compressed air, they held grunge, so I haven't been as quick to go with a SS again.

One side is the stock spacer and the other has a custom. The spacer to adapt the stock rotors back onto the ADV hub, that is the project. I skipped the stock rotors and went with a 320mm off a 450SMR. The bolt pattern is the same as the Adv hub and it is easier to space for the caliper.

i was kind of wondering how the SS filters get.

I guess the HiFlo ones aren't bad at $7.00 per. I just can't stand spending $22 on a filter I am going to throw out in a month.

You change your SM oil & filters every month?

When I put enough miles on it and in the summer and fall I usually ride more than 3000 miles in a given month.( I usually change the oil every 3,000 and sometimes I might go 5,000 between changes.) My bike has over 43,000 miles now.

Laugh On Every Sunday

I try to take a decent ride on my new to me 950SM. I've got a good friend who knows some great roads in NJ and PA to ride along with, and on occasion others will join in. No destination, just a ride for sake of getting out.

Here is a short video of some of the riding from this past Sunday. If you are looking for Wheelies, Stoppies or tire smoking burnouts, this will not interest you. But if you want to see what some of the Central NJ roads are like by all means take a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVPZTSsa024 (if you are on a mobile phone I suggest this version http://youtu.be/vJGKMTfHvlE)

I have another in works for the PA side of this ride, but iMovie is fighting me to get it exported. We'll see who wins...

CBRacerX screwed with this post 07-10-2013 at 01:42 PM Reason: Higher and Lower Rez versions

At the end of the day it was a big safety issue to be riding without the rear mount bolt installed, and the seat fwd seat mount bolt barely threaded in.

Could you help me understand how you approached KTM on this? Mine still fits but gets harder to install each time I remove it. Would love to have a factory replacement.

Video is nicely shot. I wouldn't worry about the absence of wHeelies, stoppies and burn outs when you have exciting, high speed squid action thru residential neighborhoods
Obviously people don't back out of their driveways in Jersey.

I'd grab a harbor freight ultrasonic cleaner if I went SS filter again. Just drop it in and its like new in an hour or two with proper cleaning fluid.
