MR_DNALLOH (what ever happened to that guy?) replaced his bulb with a 55 watt and it started to melt the lense so he took it back out. The SM comes with a 55watt halogen. I tried several times to get the SM pigtail with the H4 plug but had no luck & had to splice the one on that came with my UFO Plast halogen. Borrow a hundred bucks if you don't have it and get the BD, UFO Plast or try to find the SM light.

Husky For Sale

This thread has been such a great source of information...I am very excited about the 08 EFI model coming out. Has anyone heard when the 610 will be here?

Hi Guys, another simple question from a simple mind...

I ordered two Iridium plugs for my TE and when they arrived, they were Denso IU24 - 5362, not the NGK CR8EIX. Does anyone know about this?

I ordered a UFO Ray Halogen today. Does anyone know if the replacement headlights use the stock plug that goes into the stock headlight, or do you have to wire a different one in? Hopefully it's just unplug the stocker and plug in the UFO (or Baja or...)

Cheers,
Tom

i replaced my stock headlight bulb with a 100w/80 H4 - no problems whatsoever. did a lot of checking first and posted results here. try a search under my name, have only posted a dozen or so times. don't know about doing the same change on an '07 tho. i'd highly recommend the upgrade if possible - 4 bikers doa over this past summer from folks turning left.

Well, something else I've noticed upon closer inspection: While looking at which hoses I can remove from the charcoal canister (which ones come off completely, and which get teed to which?) I noticed that the two-wired electrical connector coming from the petcock is not connected to anything, and there doesn't appear to be a coresponding connector anywhere else that might attach. I'll try and and get a pic shortly...

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Tom

I'm a new rider (BMW F650GS) but am already thinking about the second bike...really like the TE450 and the SMR450. Can't choose between them...I'd like a competent street-legal dirt machine but I also like the Supermoto style.

I'm in no rush...probably can't swing another bike for close to a year but you never know...

Okay, A,B, and C are hoses to and from the charcoal canister, and D is the unconnected connector.

Talk amongst yourselves...

D, from the petcock has a connector at the wiring harness under the fuel tank. Remove the tank, you will find a matching connector. It's the low fuel sending switch connection. While you are at it, epoxy the blue wire coming out of the petcock. If it's not leaking yet, it will be soon. It's the only problem I've had with my 07.

You can safely remove all the emissions stuff, just be sure to block off the vacuum port at the intake manifold.

You may want to go back and read through the previous posts, there are people like Dan (buffalodan) who know way more than I do about this machine.

mjf, you got fast55's bike! Any problems? Mine had a fuel leak at the petcock.

The stock headlight has 3 separate mini connectors, the halogen uses a 3-prong plug like in your car. You'll have to splice the connector that comes with the new light, try to find a SM pigtail or make your own.

I just rode home from the pub and allthough the headlight doesn't compare to the beams on my Speed Triple, I really don't find the stock h lamp that bad.

Maybe I just have good night vision?

My dealer removed my emissions lines and I just noticed the vacuum line that should be plugged, is not.
Is this a big issue? Should I ensure it is plugged before riding again?

Cheers.

it will suck in air and make it run lean, especially at idle. If you were riding in dust, it would suck in that too. Go to the auto parts store and buy a container of plugs.
