Utah skidplate saves the day...

Had a great day riding the husky today, even though it bucked me off towards the end of the ride right on my face! Glad I was wearing that fullface because I, and the Husky, landed in a pretty nasty pile of rocks.. Both of us came out with only bruises thankfully.

A little too close to the oil pump, eh? Looks like the damage to the cover was made from the skid plate bending into it. I'm looking at the uptite plate and trying picture how it would of handled this.

Spark nock

I am having a lot of pinging when I try to get over 60 mph. Bike is not over heating. I run 92 93 premium fuel. But when I try to accelerate upto hwy speed it feels like I am underpowered and get a lot of pinging in 5th and 6th. It will do 80 + if I let it though. Once I reach cruise speed it runs normal with no knock, but any slight increase and the knock is present.
Bike has 450 miles and is a new 08 610. Stock

Any once else have this or any idea's? Is the timing adjustable?
I hate to take it to the dealer and let them screw with it. (and me!)

Rear tire?

I have worn out Teraflex and I'm thinking of going to Michelin Desert. What do you guys think? I ride the bike 90% off road and do some techincal singletrack and desert rides. The Teraflex is great but it is very heavy.

How many miles did you get out of the Terraflex?
Did you run an MT21 up front with it?
I'm thinking of ordering one this week...

Anyone have a Terraflex source suggestion? (they only come in one size correct?)

I have Michelin Desert in front. Teraflex is VERY heavy. I think that I put 500 miles on it and 100 on the street. I spent 2 days (150+ miles) in very rocky conditions and the tire did very well.
I got it from:
http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?...mode=cat_click

BTW don't even try to put in on yourslef. The shop pinched 2 tubes and had very hard time doing it.

Anyone else have their bike peeing on them?

I parked the other day after five hours of riding and the overflow tube that comes out front/center (on my 08TE610) had a couple drops come out. "No biggie" I think. I came out after dinner and it had made a wet spot about 8 inches in diameter. That seems a little much.

Anyone else have this happen?

Cheers,
Anders

anyone drown there te610 and not fall?

I keep hearing folks get excited over the low air intake on these things. I was wondering if anyone has actually had a problem with water in the motor and not fallen down.

Today I did some deep water with the bike, but I did put some duct tape over the two lower air intakes on the cover out of paranoia. Now I'm wondering if it was necessary.

So has anyone actually drowned their te610?

Trois 610

We got three 610s together today, one 2007 and two from 2008. Put on just about 190 miles, only about 60 in the dirt. The bikes ended up caked in dust, we looked like sugar cookies after getting damp rolling down Hwy 1 in the fog then hitting the talcum on South Coast Ridge and Old Coast Road. Left at 7:30 and returned at about 1:30. I was running my brand new first time on them MEFO Explorers. Thoought they did fairly well in the dirt, much better on the road compared to the stock rubber.

I just got past the 450 mile mark on my 08 this weekend. (I actually put 420 miles on it and am now at 850 miles total) And it was my first trip up tot he mountains out of the flat valley. I noticed immediately that trying to pull 6th at 3900-4000 rpms at elevation resulted in major pinging on 91 octane.

I just kept it out of sixth. 5th worked fine, i just cruised at 4700-5000 rpms and the bike handled it fine. It seems like i really need to be doing atleast 63ish to pull 6th gear, even in the flats without lugging the bike.

I have a Teraflex. Just now looking for a replacement for the stock Karoo. (2600 Miles) up front. It is totally gone.

they actualy come in 3 sizes but the one that fits the 610 best is 150/90-18 it is a LARGE tire. Tonight after riding I was giving the bike a good wash and discovers the tire rubs against the exhaust can. There are a series of superficial scratches in the can. I expect this will correct iteslf once the side knobs wear down a bit.

These guys are the distributor for the Teraflex quick shipping.
