"Bear" has been around forever. He used to be a "club guy" in the '70s and has watched the sport turn into a bunch of "kool aide" drinking wimps. He's a neat dude and probably thinks most bikers are "jerks"...LOL... He still piddles on some bikes but he's content chillin' with his Bulldog and maintaining a bunch of bee hives. JESUS is more important than motorsickels now and I get by to see him as often as possible. I guess he was a 1%er (that was an outlaw for the kool aide drinkers) back in the day... I guess in some aspects he still is... BFFB

I'm headed out this a.m. on a 3 day wander on the HP2. Planning to poke around here to Asheville, then West to the TN/NC line area, then check out some areas along the TN/NC line I haven't seen, head NNE into VA, then E to Mt. Airy area, then home.

I've bought stuff from Bear but it's been a few years since. Seemed like a nice fella to me. Too bad all his junk in out in the weather.

I stopped by there once. Talked to him for about 2 minutes. He basicly said "I dont sell anything". He wasn't rude but short and to the point.

Sounds like a good time magoo. Hope to make it out that way next month. Heading up to DC on the Tenere today. Sun just poked out so I'm hoping to stay behind the clouds the whole way up.

Thanks for the replies all; my experience there jives with what everyone has said, although IT 400's response has me curious. I love old stories like that, just not a fan of the attitudes...

I'm a little late to the parade(as usual). I wasn't reading between the lines RD. now I get it. Sucks to see an NCO setting that kind of example for his troops. Kinda like 71 said.

Parking was slammed at the National Zoo. Pull up next to the check-out booth, asked nicely and got the booth lady chicken tenders and she let me stay and didn't charge me on the way out.

Alright, for my fellow beer fanatics, it looks like NCBeerGuys decided we're brewing well in the Raleigh/Fayetteville area. Three of their top five beers are from our local area.

And Triangle Wine Company takes one of the spots for best bottle shops. I've been to both, and personally I'd rank the Southern Pines one over Morrisville.

While I'm glad to see hometown favorite Railhouse on the list, I can't fathom how they didn't include Olde Hickory or Mother Earth.
