When are you going? I might be interested depending if If I can get my gear dried out from this past weekend. Been raining every day and I'm sure I pissed on my tent at some point during the weekend but I wouldn't remember.

Ok guys. I'm going to be riding, yes you read that right, on 15JUN13 to Elizabethtown. There is a charity bike ride and BBQ for a gentleman with cancer. The meeting place is the NC Guard Armory. More details can be given if you PM me. I found it on Facebook and a guy I met on there that lives in Cameron is riding down with me. Gonna try to get him on ADV to

You got this via Crapatalk

Eh? Page 2 again

I saw one of these in person last month when I was overseas.

http://hbsmarine.com/html/tx200.html

If they where in the states, I believe I would own one. It really looked great in person.

Did I mention I really liked the way it looked? I can't see that model being sold in the states. Anyone have more information than teh googles brought me?

Peter

Have you seen the new KTM Duke 390? Similar bike as for ergos and position. It is based off the Bajaj engine, and will be in a KTM showroom near you soon.

Moving to DC...for only a few months

Good morning,

I will be heading to DC next month and will be there for a few months. I hope to get out on the weekends to ride WV, VA, and other states...

Suggestions?

Check out the different legs of the TAT and the TET in the area. I'm gonna try to do the TET from Maryland to Massachusetts next month.

As it says to the left I'm in Fayetteville.

Last week I bought the red 2012 R1200GSA up at Capitol.

Say whats up if you see me out and about.

------------------------------
I do have a question for the established locals of the area.

Where do you buy your gear in the area? I'm looking for some new boots and a jacket that is more "adventure" orientated since my collection of cruiser stuff doesn't breath very well. I'm all for buying online, but with the level of sizing differences between manufacturer (or even within the same manufacturer) I'd like to try something on before buying.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the insanity!

I've yet to find a great place in the area for gear. Cycle Gear is about as good as it gets. I've got some of their gear, and it isn't bad for the money. They absolutely stand behind their warranty, which is good since I've had problems with a few things. Just take it in and swap it out for a new one.

I hate buying gear online. I've rarely had a good experience. However, I've got a new-to-me 'stich waiting on me when I return, bought online. We'll see how good Aerostich's sizing tool is. If it sucks, I'll have a 'stich listed in the flea market soon.

Motorcycle theft rates are up in Fayetteville. Should I at least act surprised?

TPS Garner has a pretty good selection of non-leather street/adv stuff. I get my stuff online and just dig into reviews and sizing charts. Aside from 1 pair of mx boots I've had good luck. I usually go a size bigger so I can put it on over stuff.

Today I rode up to Greensboro to check out gear at Carolina Euro since Klim lists them as a dealer.

I didn't by any Klim gear, but I did buy:
Revi'it Sand $299
Tourmaster Caliber pants $125
Fulmer ADV Helmet $79

There is another of the Fulmer helmets up there (black/large) and a couple of the Sand jackets (XL/XXL) up there.

They also are having a sale on Schuberth C3 helmets for $499 until the 30th (all colors except black). I might go back up and buy one if I can reshape ether the helmet or my skull so that the helmet doesn't drive into my forehead.

I'm still looking for someplace to try on and buy some boots (Sidi, Gaerne, TCX).
