Mike Hacker and some of the RIDEAcademy crew will be present at the Tar Heel race. They will be on and off the track, come get some dirttrack tips from the man that tunes the Factory HD of Kenny Coolbeth Jr.

Had to get the Triumph inspected. I decided to do it today. Wouldn't you know that Ray Price Triumph/Ducati is closed on Wednesdays? Glad I called.

So now I'm waiting for an inspection at a Harley dealership....again. The only thing slower than an HD rider is an HD service department. This has been a common theme at every HD place I've ever entered. I should have just rolled over to Meridian.

Yeah, I elected to check out the HD dealership in Pinehurst. I haven't had anything inspected there in a while. It took them an hour to get to it, and then they walked in and told me my rear tire will fail. They didn't charge me, but the bike never moved either. Guess I'm changing a tire during lunch.

Honda of Sanford is THE place to get stuff inspected. Lynn is very accommodating to say the least.

Noted. Next one is going there. In the meantime I've got a Metzeler 880 that WILL NOT come off the freaking rim.

Donkey,

If you're just looking state inspections, just about anywhere that inspects cars will inspect MC's now. I take everything, including my Ural to a Citgo station in Salemburg, or Black's Tire (hate to give those jokers a plug... but it's just an inspection) which is right by my house. No problems.

Some places are still afraid to inspect bikes, but now that it's all computerized (no sticker) any inspection shop CAN.

Morgans BP at HWY 5 at US 1 did my bikes. He likes Urals (the first time I took it there he really liked reverse) He usually doesn't mess around and lets you get in and out so you don't get run over by everyone getting tire work.

As for the Harley dealer... I've been dealing with them off and on for over 25 years. SOmetimes we friends, sometimes we're not. I guess I've mellowed in my old age and I don't let them get me wound up like I used to. I just wish they'd quit sending sad sacks to me about Urals :) Zach seemed OK to deal with, Sherrill and I always tussle. Joe won't sell anything and Darrell is just Darrell. Did they have any used junk worth looking at? I'm fixing to send the RE away and looking for a T-Dub. See, I gotta plan in mind....

Every year I take the DRZ to the garage at 401 and Wayside and every year they look at it and laugh and say "that won't pass inspection!" and then I show them them the license plate, and the previous registration, and the rear view mirrors, and the DOT legal tires and remind them that they said the same thing 11 months ago and then I give them money and leave. We've been doing it every year for 3 years and I wouldn't have it any other way. They're about to meet the Tenere tomorrow.

Also is that an in-law rescue mission?

There 3 shops close to the my part time FD job, near Hope Mills, I use. One is on the same street. The 2 motorcycle shops cater to harleys but inspect mine no problem. The other is a used tire shop. most of the time I'm in and out in 30 minutes.

Sucks to hear the Triumph needs a tire. I guess that means you get to ride it! I second(third whatever) HSA of Sanford. They told me my V-Strom needed a tire to pass inspection then passed it. I think they get the ones that ride safe and aren't idiots about riding on a bald tire. I wanted them to put the tire on but they advised me removing it from the bike would be a better cheaper faster way to get new rubber. I like honest people.
